Puzzle solving is an effective method to reinforce educational concepts. Working on puzzles allows students to have fun while reviewing ideas that they have learned. Seek and find word puzzles, also known as word search puzzles, consist of a grid of letters in which key words are hidden. You don't have to spend money on seek and find puzzle books. You can create free puzzles for recreational or teaching purposes through several online websites.

Instructions
1. Visit a puzzle maker or word search creation website, such as puzzle-maker.com or superkids.com.
2. Type in the words you want to include in your puzzle. For instance, if you are teaching a unit on American history, choose terms like, "George Washington," "Abraham Lincoln" and "Declaration of Independence."
3. Click on the number of rows and columns that you want in your puzzle. On some websites, this aspect may be referred to as grid height and width.
4. Indicate the difficulty of your puzzle, if possible. Some websites will let you indicate whether you want the words to be placed forward, backward, diagonally or vertically within the puzzle.
5. Click "Create" or "Generate" to make your puzzle.
6. Print your puzzle. Make copies if necessary.
